Early Childhood Australia NSW is a volunteer run organisation promoting the voice for young children and supporting professionals working in the field of Early Childhood Education. Members of the Executive come from different organisation representing community based, private centres, Family day care, OOSCH services, Training organisations, consultants and universities. ECA NSW sit on many committees to be an active voice for members.

The annual ECA NSW  Far North Coast regional branch conference for 2017 is  at SALT Peppers resort Kingscliff.
The conference dates are:

Ethical Leadership Friday 17th February 1pm-6pm Ethical leadership is necessary to ensure Early Education and Care Services meet contemporary pedagogical practices and standards which are sensitive to the rights of young children, their families and the community. Come an experience an interactive session with Catharine Hydon focusing on how leaders in early education and care settings can understand and implement strategies which provide a structure for their team of educators to understand and actively work with the revised ECA Code of ethics.

Ethics in Practice Saturday 18th February 9:30- 3:30pm As an early childhood professional it is essential for educators to understand their role and responsibilities in enacting ethical practice. Catharine Hydon will present an interactive and stimulating professional learning session which looks at the newly revised ECA code of ethics and assists educators to understand how this impacts directly on their pedagogy and practice. This is an essential workshop for all educators at all levels. Morning Tea and lunch will be provided. Please email any dietary requirements directly to the organiser.

Far North Coast End of Year Dinner

Far North Coast final meeting for the year is on Tuesday the 13th December at the Brunswick Heads Pub. The meeting will start at 6pm.  Everyone is welcome to stay for an end of year catch up dinner at 7pm.
If you would like to attend the dinner, please RSVP to hutchinsonmj_13@hotmail.com by Friday the 9th of December. People are more than welcome to only come to the meeting and then leave or only come to the dinner. It is up to you!

Illawarra South Coast Conversations.

On Wednesday 16th November, 50 ECA members and friends from the Illawarra and South Coast region, participated in active presentations lead by Merise Bickley  (Head, Early Childhood / Teaching Standards, Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards NSW)  and Carolin Wenzel (Media & Campaign Manager for Early Childhood Australia).

 The success of the evening is an indication that enthusiasm and advocacy is alive and well on the South Coast.

Early Childhood Australia (ECA) Illawarra South Coast is holding a meeting on Wednesday 16th November at Shellharbour Workers Club, 6pm – 8.30pm.  Carolin Wenzil from ECA will explore how we can communicate the value of early learning in new ways that engage families and other stakeholders. Plus,  Merise Bickley from BOSTES will be discussing the next steps for NSW registered ECTs.

ECA Far North Coast Branch presents:

“Who says what goes: Decision making in Early Childhood Services”.

With so many stakeholders wanting input into Early Childhood services, who do we listen to? This discussion evening will provide opportunities for Educators and parents from all walks of life the opportunity to share their stories, ask questions and gain some helpful strategies around listening and talking with relevant stakeholders.
